Brooks Morrison

Brooks founded The Design Social Studio after working for Moore & Giles for 12 years—first, heading up their Marketing department, then leading the creative direction for leather design as their VP of Product Design and Merchandising. It was there that her passion for design, travel and storytelling truly flourished.

During that time, she was fortunate to connect with a number of very talented textile and wallpaper designers whose commitment to craft and artistry was something she deeply respected and admired.

In 2019, she founded The Design Social Pop-up to bring sourcing to a community level and offer up more inspiring opportunities for designers and editors to interact with the artisans and creatives behind her favorite independent textile, wall covering and home furnishing brands.

In August 2020, she unveiled the Design Social Studio, a highly curated collection of boutique fabric and wallpaper brands from around the world. Her vision was to create more imaginative avenues for designers in the Southeast to discover and experience these brands while making sourcing significantly more seamless.

Working with beautifully crafted boutique brands that inspire her daily is a dream come true and an opportunity to excel at what she enjoys the most: building community, sharing stories and connecting creatives within the interior design community.

A daughter of an interior designer, she spent her childhood in the family furniture store, Bragg Furniture, and enjoyed tagging along with her mother to Designer Showhouses. Her childhood in the furniture business ignited a passion for fabrics, textiles and wallcoverings. In 2016, Lauren moved to Atlanta to work for esteemed interior designer Melanie Millner at The Design Atelier. In 2020, she was hired as a Senior Designer for Betty Burgess Design, one of Atlanta’s most respected interior design firms. She has worked on projects across the US extending from Georgia to Colorado, Maine, Florida, New York and California.

After the birth of her son in December 2022, Lauren decided to launch her own design firm and antique shop, Shoppe Weis. Lauren resides in Atlanta with her husband, Chris, son Wells, daughter Remy, and her King Charles Spaniel Bode. She spends her free time with her family and friends, antiquing and attending estate sales.
